PERTH (miningweekly.com) – Coal developer Paringa Resources has appointed Egan J Antill as CEO and MD, effective from December 12.

Antill studied engineering at the University of Queensland and has worked for Mount Isa Mines and Caterpillar of Australia. He completed an MBA at Yale and spent 20 years in investment banking on Wall Street, including as MD of Merrill Lynch.

“We are very pleased to have Antill lead as Paringa’s CEO,” said Paringa chairperson Ian Middlemas.

“[His] technical background and extensive knowledge of financial markets and the metals and mining industry will be critical to driving production at the current sites, in identifying other growth opportunities and unlocking shareholder value. Paringa’s business is US-focused, and it's appropriate that we have a US-based executive driving its business and strategy.”
