US-based manufacturer and global supplier of bulk materials processing and handling systems Superior Industries has expanded its partnership with long-time dealer, distributor of aggregate and construction equipment General Equipment & Supplies to include crushing and screening.

General Equipment & Supplies now exclusively represents Superior Industries’ brand of crushing, vibratory and washing equipment in Iowa and Nebraska, in the US. The new processing agreement, announced in August, is in addition to the company distributing Superior Industries’ conveying equipment throughout the Upper Midwest.

“We're excited to grow our relationship with the dedicated team at General Equipment in the Iowa and Nebraska markets,” says Superior Industries VP John Garrison. “General Equipment has been a long-term partner of ours and shares our passion for great customer service and support.”

In addition to conveying equipment like the TeleStacker Conveyor and RazerTail Truck Unloader, General Equipment & Supplies now sells and services emerging, American-made processing machinery, including Superior Industries’ jaw, cone and vertical shaft impact crushers, horizontal and inclined screens, washing screws, dewatering screens and fines processing systems. From rock face to load-out, General Equipment & Supplies is equipped to be a single-source supplier of portable and stationary processing and handling equipment for Superior Industries in Iowa and Nebraska.

New Product

Superior Industries has launched a new portable plant configuration – the Tandem Guardian screen plant.

The unit, whose launch was announced in May, includes both a primary and secondary screen, and gives operators more options for processing material while increasing an application’s potential tons-per-hour production.

Superior Industries’ engineers designed the Guardian horizontal screen with a number of features to improve usability and maintenance.

On the unit, patent-pending bottle jack lifting points simplify and speed up spring replacement and improve safety.

The unit has a segmented belt guard and sectioned tailgate, which greatly lighten the loads of these two features, requiring only one person to remove and return the guards and gates during maintenance.

Exclusive to Superior Industries, and new to the industry, are bolt-locking, hinged access doors, which allow access for screen media maintenance. The hinges prevent operators from misplacing the spillage-preventing doors.

Moreover, a fully enclosed belt guard ensures maximum safety, while an integrated, on-board tensioner accelerates maintenance on the motor belt.

The unit’s screens are designed with extended top deck discharge lips for accurate material transfer onto cross conveyors. The plant includes two 7 × 20 triple deck screens, each equippped with 50 hp, 1 200 rpm motors. Custom sizes of the Tandem Guardian screen plant are available from Superior Industries.
