JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) – Embattled precious metals exploration company Platfields remains in settlement negotiations with another party that had implemented liquidation proceedings against it.

Platfields was advised in October last year that an order for its provisional liquidation was granted by the Gauteng High Court, with final liquidation on December 14.

However, the company opposed the liquidation, as it had received an offer from a potential buyer to subscribe for shares in Platfields.

A court date that had been set for January 25 had been postponed twice.

Platfields on Monday said a new return date for the liquidation application had not been set down, owing to the continuing settlement negotiations.
