Mining engineer Steve Holmes, a former vice-president (VP) of Barrick Gold’s joint venture portfolio, has joined NYSE- and TSX-listed First Majestic Silver as COO.
In his new role, he will be responsible for overseeing the operational functions at First Majestic’s Mexican portfolio of silver mines and projects.
Holmes previously also served as the COO for KGHM International, operations VP at the Sierra Gorda copper mine in Chile and has acted in general management roles at Asarco, Chino Mines Company and Freeport-McMoRan.
