ASX-listed Boss Energy is set to produce its first drum of uranium from the Honeymoon project, in South Australia, this quarter, MD Duncan Craib reported on Thursday.

This comes as the company started commissioning the first ion-exchange (IX) circuit within the processing plant.

The IX circuit will drive efficiencies at Honeymoon, increasing throughput to a nameplate capacity of 2.45-million pounds a year, while reducing ramp-up time and technical risks.

The IX milestone follows the continuous operation of the wellfields, water treatment plant, reverse osmosis system and required agents.

“We are now in the final stages of putting all the pieces of the project together and remain comfortably on budget and on schedule,” said Craib, noting that the company was “perfectly positioned” to cash in on the current uranium price surge.
