JSE-listed Anglo American Platinum (Amplats) has appointed Sayurie Naidoo as CFO and executive director, with effect from May 1.
Naidoo, who has been serving as the acting CFO since Craig Miller assumed the role of CEO in October 2023, brings more than 15 years of experience with Anglo American to her new position.
With a robust background in finance, she has held pivotal roles such as financial controller at Amplats and principal accountant: corporate development at Kumba Iron Ore, among others, the company highlights in a statement.
Her experience includes steering finance teams through various strategic finance programmes, showcasing her deep understanding of the business and the ability to deliver successful outcomes which positions her well for the CFO role.
“After an extensive search, both internally and externally, I am pleased to extend a warm welcome to Sayurie in her new role. We are confident that she will fulfil her new responsibilities skilfully as she continues to add value to the Anglo American Platinum leadership team,” says chairperson Norman Mbazima.
“In her new position, Sayurie will support the CEO and the executive team in achieving Anglo American Platinum’s ambition of safe, stable and capable operations in the pursuit of industry-leading returns,” Mbazima adds.
