TSX-V-listed Impact Silver has restarted production at its Royal Mines of Zacualpan silver district, in Mexico, following lifting of Covid-19-related restrictions by government.

The operation involves three underground mines and one openpit mine feeding ore to the Guadalupe production centre.

Another operation of the company to the south of this project, in the Mamatla district, an openpit silver mine, awaits restart when silver prices increase in the market.

The company’s mine restart plan for the Zacualpan district includes active virus monitoring, prevention and response measures related to Covid-19, on top of its standard health and safety measures.

Some of the new measures include employees and contractors undergoing medical screening before they enter a site, having test kits available for suspected cases, companywide physical distancing and sanitation measures, an educational and resource seminar for local communities, as well as health kits for local communities.

Impact has also provided personal protective equipment for employees and communities in the Zacualpan district accordingly.

So far, there have been no recorded incidences of Covid-19 in the district.

Meanwhile, the company’s exploration team is restarting mapping and sampling field programmes to develop drill programmes for targets at the Chapanial and Veta Negra mines.
