Germany-headquartered pumps manufacturer Netzsch Pumps & Systems and the company’s North American division last month introduced a range of safe, reliable and cost efficient mine dewatering pumps and pump skids that are ideal for mines that require small and compact portable units to address their dewatering challenges.

The mine dewatering pump skid unit includes a tank, progressing cavity pump with a right angle gear motor, inspection ladder, as well as valves and piping, which are all mounted on a common galvanised steel skid. Optional units with a control panel (with or without a variable-frequency drive on a removable stand) and instrumentation, which includes high/low level switches on the tank or dry run protection for the pump, are also available.

Additionally, individual pumps are available to retrofit existing skids.

The tank includes baffle/divider screens to filter out any solids too big to fit through the pump. The pump is located to the side of the tank, enabling easier access and maintenance.

The standard unit uses a right angle gear motor to save space and eliminate the need for a belt drive; however, belt and pulley designs are also available.

According to Netzsch, operator safety is enhanced by the inclusion of a removable inspection ladder with handrails and a removable safety screen for the tank.

Further, the pump and tank are available in a range of flow and pressure capabilities and can be constructed from carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, as well as rubber-lined steel, depending on the application needs.

Netzsch also made its Nemo progressive cavity pumps and the self-priming, valve-less Tornado T2 positive displacement pumps available to mining applications in the North American market.

The Nemo progressive cavity pump is known for its continuous, stable pressure, gentle and low pulsation transfer of almost any process fluid without being affected by fluctuations in pressure and viscosity.

The Tornado T2 offers maximum opera- tional performance, high reliability and durability.
