Battery metals development company NextSource Materials has appointed automotive industry veteran Martina Buchhauser to its board of directors.

The company, which is developing the Molo graphite mine, in Madagascar, says she has "a profound knowledge" of the automotive industry and its shift towards sustainable and low-carbon technologies.

Her leadership experience has encompassed executive roles in global procurement and supply chain networks at General Motors, MAN, BMW and Volvo Cars, where she until recently served as the chief procurement officer and on the management board.

"Ms Buchhauser will be a valuable resource to us as we accelerate our vertical integration plans to supply active anode material to electric vehicle supply chains from our planned battery anode facility in Mauritius," the company says.
