Phillips Machine South Africa is an original-equipment manufacturer of underground shuttle cars, cable operated alternating current/direct current. Starting at operating heights of 900 mm, the shuttle cars have payloads ranging from 8 t to 30 t.
Phillips Machine aims to provide the best machine and components at the most cost-efficient price, while focusing on returning customers’ operations to production as soon as possible and increasing clients’ profitability.
The company offers repaired and rebuilt continuous miner’ machines and is considered a leader in the field, having implemented its own lacing fixture.
Phillips Machine also has a series of battery scoops, starting at 900 mm operating height, 50 HP and 67 HP versions with a three-post canopy for improved visibility, as well as feeder breakers, which are a critical transfer between shuttle cars and scoops to the section conveyer belt.
For the civil and building industries, the group supplies Terramite roller screeds, tractors and sweepers, as well as V-Drain excavators.
Situated in the heart of the coal mining industry in Mpumalanga, Phillips Machine’s factory and offices are located at 12 Mandela drive, in Middelburg.
Phillips Machine’s activities (sales, after-market support, field service and rebuilds) are available throughout South Africa, as well as in other African countries such as Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Globally, Phillips Machine began operating in 1976 and has grown into one of the largest full-service companies of its type in the world, setting the pace for equipment service and support.
