Goodlace resigns from Southern Palladium board

Terence Goodlace

Terence Goodlace has resigned as director and chairperson of platinum group metals (PGMs) company Southern Palladium, with immediate effect.

“I have made this decision reluctantly, based solely on the advice of a proxy advisory services company regarding the number of board positions they believe I should hold,” he said on May 5.

In addition to his position at Southern Palladium, Goodlace serves as Kumba Iron Ore independent nonexecutive chairperson, Gold Fields independent nonexecutive director and Andrada Mining independent nonexecutive director.

He reaffirmed his belief in the prospectivity of Southern Palladium’s advanced-stage Bengwenyama PGMs exploration project located on the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex.

“I will maintain my keen interest in the continued development of this project,” Goodlace said.

Southern Palladium director Mike Stirzaker has been appointed interim chairperson.

“Southern Palladium is very disappointed that Goodlace felt that he must resign as a director in these circumstances. We greatly appreciate the guiding influence that [he] provided during the initial public offering and the successful dual listing of the company on the ASX and the JSE,” Stirzaker said.
