PERTH (miningweekly.com) – ASX-listed Altura Mining has shipped a record cargo of 24 500 t of lithium concentrate to offtake partner Ganfeng Lithium.

The company on Tuesday revealed that it had now shipped a total of 170 000 t of lithium concentrate since starting production at its Pilgangoora mine, in Western Australia, in July 2018.

“Our concentrate, which exhibits all of the key attributes preferred by converters, has enabled us to continue to secure consistent sales despite the soft market conditions,” said MD James Brown.

“We have offtake commitments in place for our entire production capacity of 220 000 t, we continue to produce at close to nameplate production rates, and our cost structure places Altura at the lower end of hard rock producers,” he added.
